Fellow Hams and Radio Operators.
Tippecanoe Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) will test the sirens through out the county Saturday November 5th, and is requesting the observation and report the operation of the sirens assigned to the radio operators.
We are asking you to continue your public service mission. If you are available this coming Saturday morning, and can go to a siren location to observe its operation, please fill out the application at https://w9tca.com/emergency-siren-locations-and-information/ , or check into the net at 10:45 a.m., on the WI9RES 147.135 MHz repeater (131.8 Hz tone), and advise Net Control of which one you plan to cover. The sirens are scheduled to activate at 11:00 a.m.
The list of all sirens and their locations is at www.W9TCA.com
We look forward to working with you and other members of the amateur community to help TEMA collect status reports of the county’s warning sirens on the 1st Saturday of each month. Please consider helping with this important public service. Thanks and 73.
NOTE: As of 11:30pm on 11/4/2022 Tippecanoe county is under a wind advisory. There is a high probability that the test will be cancelled due to the weather conditions. We are waiting to hear from TEMA. As soon as they notify their intentions, we will pass the news along.
